Week in Review

This past week was wonderful.  It felt like my first week of summer, since ESY was over, and I made the best of it.

Here is a quick recap...

(I'm still working on the picture taking thing)

On Monday, Jocelyn and I went to lunch then dropped my computer off at school and collected my belongings that were still there.  We were a little a lot sad, so we went to Zorvino's for a quick wine tasting.  We had a great time sampling there different wines and I picked some up to bring to my Texas friends.

Tuesday I ran some errands and organized around the house.  Wednesday, was a great day to scratch off some bucket list items.  I headed to the beach and then this happened.

Thursday, I packed a lunch and enjoyed a picnic outside before heading into work.  I was only going to stay to eat, but ended up there for quite a while reading my book.  It was wonderful way to spend an afternoon.

Paul was telling me my lunchtime snapchats were becoming cruel. So I didn't show him how I spent my Friday morning.  Can you guess?

That's right a beautiful morning at the beach.  Followed by a wonderful night out with friends.  Thanks to everyone who made it.  We had a blast and it was so nice of you to come from near and far to spend some time with us.  We are sad to be leaving some amazing friends (top photo) and coworkers (bottom photo). You better come visit!

I swear Paul and other boys were there, but once again, I am slacking in the photo department.  Thanks to Liz and Jocelyn for capturing these moments.  Saturday we had a great time at a family birthday party followed by a cookout with more friends.

I hope you all had a great week too!

Since we are leaving New England for an undetermined amount of time, I created a bucket list of everything I wanted to do before I go.  Here goes in no particular order...

11. Eat meatballs at the Barking Dog
12.  Have Richardson's Ice Cream at Richardson's
13. Have breakfast at Kelly's Kitchen

Looks like I have a lot of eating to do...

Weekend Update

Hi Y'All,

I am practicing that :)

I have been computer-less for about a week, so sorry for the lack of posts.  Last weekend we had a fabulous time in CT.  We got to hang with my 93 year-old grandma and her sister and lots of family and friends.  We also got some relaxing in at the lake.  Thanks to everyone who came to see us.

I am ashamed to admit this, but we never ate the top tier of our wedding cake on our anniversary.  Good thing I wasn't a "blogger" then.  We just never remembered to bring it back with us and didn't visit CT around that time of our anniversary so there it sat in my parents freezer for almost 13 months.  I think my Dad was ready to start charging us rent. We used this visit home to finally eat our cake in the presence of our friends.  This may be the few glasses of wine talking, but it was pretty delicious.  Still moist and fluffy.

Reenacting the big day

The next day I was able to check something off my Moving Bucket List (more on that in another post), and ran around entire lake.  Our cottage is on a lake that is 7 miles around and my friends and I would always run attempt to run around it during the summer when we were younger.  We would make it a mile then decide to visit people we knew who would usually give us cookies and then we would either keep going the rest of the way around mostly walking or turn around and walk the mile back. Either plan ended with eating 3D Doritos in my boat.  We always felt like we earned them because of our run.

Since I started running longer distances it has been a goal of mine to tackle the lake.  It is very hilly, but was a fun little run with awesome scenery.

We spent the rest of the day relaxing by the water and it was just glorious.

Bye for now.

Currently I Am....

In the car on the way to Connecticut to visit my family and some great friends.

Can't wait to see these crazy girls.

We were listening to Pandora's Spice Girl Station, but that just got nixed. So I decided to try posting from my from my phone.

I am using this car ride to prep for 4 days in the car and trying any and all car games I can think of. Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Yesterday, I cleaned and organized for 6 hours so I treated my self to this deliciousness.

I love froyo! Especially tart and coconut with gummy things on top.

Signing off from the road.

Here we go...

map courtesy of google maps
Hi Ya'll,
So as many of you know Paul, Brooke and I are moving to Austin the beginning of September.  In order to keep our friends and family close, I have started a blog to chronicle our adventures.
Get ready for lots of fun as we pack, say our goodbyes and drive 2000 miles with our crazy boxer to the great state of Texas.
I promise to start taking more pictures. I am also going to try to become funnier. I am sure both these things will be a work in progress.
So stay tuned as these newlyweds venture 2000 miles from were we grew up onto new adventures.
XO,
Jill
